The Orange County Convention Center is the second-largest convention center in the country, trailing only Las Vegas — and it’s split across two buildings, North and South, joined by a pedestrian bridge that arcs over International Drive. Between the two halls you’re looking at nearly seven million square feet under one roof (or two), which means exhibitors on one side of the bridge are often functionally in a different building than the show floor they’re trying to reach. Does WiFiT cover both the North and South buildings, including areas near the pedestrian bridge?

Yes. We deploy units in both the North and South complex, and we plan around the specific spot your booth lands in — signal behaves differently near the bridge crossing than it does deep inside a hall. For outdoor activations, loading dock areas, or sections where cellular signal is genuinely weak, we can pair the cellular unit with Starlink for a backup path that doesn’t depend on carrier towers at all.

How does WiFiT's pricing compare to buying WiFi directly through OCCC's in-house provider?

OCCC’s in-house internet is typically priced per device or per Mbps tier, and it adds up fast once you’ve got a POS system, a couple of laptops, and a tablet running demos at the same booth. WiFiT rents you one unit with dedicated bandwidth that covers your whole booth footprint, so you’re not paying per connected device. For most exhibitors running more than two or three devices, it works out cheaper than stacking the venue’s per-device packages.

How far ahead do I need to book, and when do you actually set up?

We install the day before your show opens and test the connection before doors open, so nothing’s a surprise on move-in morning. For IAAPA Expo and HIMSS specifically — OCCC’s two biggest weeks of the year — book at least two to three weeks out. Vendor load-in slots and dock access get tight during those shows, and we’d rather build in a buffer than scramble the morning of setup.

Is the connection secure, or am I sharing a network with every other exhibitor on the floor?

You’re not on OCCC’s public or exhibitor WiFi at all — WiFiT gives you a private, isolated connection that only your devices touch. That matters at OCCC more than most venues, since shows like HIMSS involve booths handling sensitive healthcare data and shows like IAAPA involve exhibitors running proprietary AR/VR demos they’d rather competitors not see traffic from.

I'm exhibiting at IAAPA Expo or HIMSS — has WiFiT actually worked shows that size at OCCC before?

Yes. IAAPA booths are heavy on live AR/VR ride demos and motion simulators, which chew through bandwidth in a way a lot of booth teams don’t plan for until the connection buckles on day one.
